Get stronger, fitter and become
more physically capable
One-to-one online coaching for people who care about their fitness, but don’t want to spend their life figuring out how to manage it.
Your training is built around your goals, your life and what actually happens along the way, with expert coaching to help you make the right decisions and keep moving forwards.
Fitness should give you more than a different-looking body.
We want your training to make you stronger, fitter and more capable of doing the things you care about.
You care about your fitness, but managing it isn’t always straightforward…
Maybe you know where you’d like to get to, but you’re not completely sure how to get there.
Maybe you’re training consistently but constantly wondering whether you’re doing the right things.
Maybe you’re trying to combine strength training with running, sport or another goal without one compromising the other.
Maybe you’ve got a history of niggles or injuries and you’re not sure what to train, what to change or when to push on.
Maybe consistency itself is the problem - you’ve tried programmes, classes or doing it yourself, but nothing has really stuck.
Or maybe you’re just fed up with spending your own time researching, programming and second-guessing everything.
These might look like different problems, but they often need the same thing: good training decisions made consistently over time.
You probably don’t need more fitness information.
There are thousands of training programmes available online. You can find a workout for free in seconds. AI can write you a programme before you’ve finished your morning coffee.
And for some people, that’s genuinely all they need.
But a programme can only tell you what you’re supposed to do.
It doesn’t know that work was chaos this week. It doesn’t know that your knee has started bothering you, that you’ve unexpectedly signed up for a half marathon, that you’re recovering faster than expected, that you missed three sessions this week or that you’re doing everything on the programme but something still isn’t working.
That’s where coaching comes in.
My job isn’t simply to write your programme. It’s to help you manage your training.
We plan it, you train, we see what happens, I review it with you, we make decisions, adjust where necessary, and keep moving forwards.
So instead of constantly wondering whether you’re doing enough, too much, or the right thing at all, you’ve got an experienced coach in your corner helping you make sense of it.
⬇️ How online coaching actually works ⬇️
Your training should fit around your life, not the other way around.
Our goal isn’t to create the perfect programme on day one. It’s to build a training process that keeps working when real life inevitably gets involved.
“Knowing I can just head to the gym/for a run and follow the workout plan makes life so much easier. Tom creates simple, efficient workouts that I can easily fit into my week and which are tailored weekly to my schedule, fitness level and goals.”
- Robyn, Online Coaching
What do you actually get?
Everything you need to train and a coach to help you make sense of it.
Online coaching gives you a training plan that’s built specifically for you, but that’s only the starting point.
You’ll have me alongside you to review how things are going, answer questions, give feedback and make changes as we learn more about what works for you.
-
Your programme is designed around your goals, current ability, training history, preferences, available equipment and the amount of time you can realistically commit.
If you’re also running, cycling, playing sport or preparing for an event, we’ll make those things work together rather than pretending your gym training exists in isolation.
-
At the end of each week, you’ll complete a short check-in. I’ll review your training, your feedback and anything you’ve sent me, then send you a personalised video review.
We’ll look at what’s going well, what isn’t, and what, if anything, needs to change for the week ahead.
-
You can send me exercise videos for technique feedback, ask questions and message me when something comes up.
If something needs more than a few messages, we’ll jump on a call and work through it properly.
-
Your programme isn’t set in stone.
If your schedule changes, something starts hurting, you enter an event, a particular exercise isn’t working or your progress tells us we should do something differently, we’ll adapt.
The plan serves you, you don’t serve the plan.
Your first 12 weeks
Good coaching starts with getting to know you. I won’t pretend I can design the perfect programme from one questionnaire, because it’s a process.
Your first 12 weeks give us enough time to understand where you’re starting from, establish a training routine that actually works in your life, see how you respond and let us refine things as we go.
First, we understand:
Your goals, training history, current ability, preferences, schedule, other activities and anything else that matters.
Then, we build:
I’ll create your initial training plan and we’ll go through it together so you understand what you’re doing and why.
Then, we learn and adjust
As you train, we get real information. What works? What doesn’t? What can we progress? What needs changing?
By 12 weeks, the aim is that training feels established rather than experimental.
You know what you’re doing, it has a realistic place in your life, you’re confident in the process and we’ve got objective evidence of how you’re progressing.
That and you’ll be stronger, fitter and more capable than when we started.
And after 12 weeks…
By now we know considerably more about you and your training.
So rather than repeatedly starting again with a new programme, we keep building on what we’ve learned.
New goals come along. Life changes. Fitness improves. Priorities shift. Problems occasionally crop up.
We keep running the same process:
Train → review → decide → adjust → keep moving forwards.
And the aim isn’t to make you dependent on a coach forever.
I want you to understand your training better as we work together, become more confident making decisions and ultimately be more capable of managing your own fitness, whether you choose to keep me involved or not.
A different approach to fitness coaching…
I’m Tom, the coach behind EA Training.
I believe good coaching should help you become more capable, rather than make you frightened of movement, dependent on your coach or permanently dissatisfied with your body.
My approach is evidence-based, but that doesn’t mean turning your training into a science experiment. It means using the best information we have, combining it with coaching experience and applying it to the person in front of me.
I’ve spent the past 15 years strength training myself and 8 years coaching people with very different starting points and goals, from people stepping into a gym for the first time to runners, endurance athletes and experienced lifters.
I keep learning because this field keeps changing, but I’ll never pretend we know things we don’t, diagnose things outside my scope, or make promises that training can’t guarantee.
My goal is to encourage good training, sensible decisions and a stronger, fitter, more capable you.
No before-and-after photos, no punishment, no fitness-industry bullsh*t, just individual coaching designed to help you get more from what your body can do.
What does that look like in practice?
“My initial goals with Tom were to squat and deadlift again with manageable pain and to run 5K. My expectations were well and truly surpassed.
Tom’s expertise allowed me to not only return to weight training but become stronger than I ever thought I’d be capable, injured or otherwise. I’ve also completed several half marathons, Tough Mudders and even a Strongwoman comp since.”
- Katie
“Tom has changed my relationship with strength work and endurance sports for the better. Pain has subsided and PBs have flowed. He has taken the time to learn my specific needs and put this into structure that suits my time crunched schedule.”
- James
“My body has never felt this strong and capable… I feel like I am an Everyday Athlete who can do anything and everything!
No generic training plans, or pressure on aesthetics, but a personal evidence-based training approach which WILL get you strong and fit not just for a one-off holiday but for life!”
- Zoë
Online coaching might be a good fit for you, if…
Being strong, fit and physically capable genuinely matters to you.
You have goals, but aren’t completely confident you’re managing your training as well as you could be.
You’d value having someone experienced take some of the planning, problem-solving and second-guessing off your plate.
You want training built around your life rather than having to organise your life around a rigid plan.
You want to understand what you’re doing rather than blindly following instructions.
You value thoughtful, individual coaching more than hype, quick fixes or aesthetics-at-all-costs.
And you probably don’t need online coaching if all you’re looking for is a programme…
There are plenty of good programmes available for considerably less money and if you’re confident adapting one yourself, that may genuinely be all you need.
Coaching makes sense when you value having an actual coach involved in the decisions.
Fill in the short enquiry form and tell me a little about your training, your goals and what you’d like some help with.
Once you’ve submitted it, I’ll send you a short video explaining the coaching service in a little more detail, including exactly what it costs.
If you’ve watched that and think “yes, this sounds like what I’m looking for”, you’ll be able to book an initial Strategy Call with me.
We’ll talk properly about where you are now, where you’d like to get to and whether I think I can help.
No sales pitch or obligation to sign up.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Some clients come to me with years of training experience, others have barely been inside a gym. Your programme and the level of support are built around where you’re starting.
-
Yes. Your strength and fitness training should complement the other things you want to do, not compete with them. We’ll account for your other training when planning your week.
-
Pain doesn’t automatically mean you can’t train and I can often adapt your training around it. I don’t diagnose or treat injuries, though, and where appropriate I’ll recommend getting input from a suitably qualified healthcare professional.
-
It’s definitely preferable. You can go a long way with a good home set-up but, for most people, access to a well-equipped gym gives us considerably more options for progressing your strength training.
